Insomniac Events Celebrates Safe and Successful Audiotistic 2010!

Monday, July 26th, 2010 at 12:00PM

Safety & Security Policies successful at music festival.
With over 25,000 fans filling four musical areas of the transformed grounds of the National Orange Show (NOS) center in San Bernardino, Insomniac Events is pleased to announce that the enforcement of their 18 and older policy along with increased security and new event medical measures have resulted in a safe and successful Audiotistic, 2010.

Audiotistic is one of the West Coast's largest multi-genre music festivals, uniting many styles of music culture including electronic music, hip-hop and turntablism. From its humble beginnings in 1996, Audiotistic has grown to be one of the largest, most talent packed multi-genre music festivals. This year’s show lineup featured some of the most groundbreaking DJs and performance acts. A few of the featured acts were N.A.S.A. featuring Sam Spiegel, Kid Cudi, Bassnectar, A-Trak, Rusko, Talib Kweli & DJ Hi-Tek and Cosmic Gate.

Audiotistic 2010 marked the first show where Insomniac enforced their newly enacted 18 and older policy. Insomniac purchased handheld ID scanners, which it used to enforce the 18 and older policy. In addition, Audiotistic utilized the services of Symons Event, the largest provider of specialized event medical and safety services in the United States. Symons Event Safety has provided emergency medical personnel for events such as the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Auto Club Speedway, Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, the Air Rescue teams for the Baja 1000 in Mexico.

“All the wonderful people who help make our events so special deserve not only the best entertainment, but the most comprehensive safety and security measures available and the fact that Audiotistic was successful in being both entertaining and safe shows that we are achieving that goal. Audiotistic 2010 proves that Insomniac Events knows how to produce a safe and secure music festival and that an 18 and older policy can be implemented successfully,” said Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac’s CEO.

Insomniac is working with Investigative Advisory Group (IAG), a consulting firm that has experience creating overall safety and security protocols for large venues, to analyze Insomniac’s current and proposed safety protocols and procedures for the company’s music festivals throughout the United States.

“IAG officials were on hand to observe the quality security we currently provide as well as to use this opportunity to come up with suggestions to make these events a better experience for all of our guests. We love our community and we will continue to create the most entertaining and safe events for our fans and artists to enjoy. We are extremely grateful for the continued support and assistance of the National Orange Show, the San Bernardino community and businesses, as well as the San Bernardino Police and Fire Departments who helped make this event a huge success. ” concluded Rotella.

Insomniac Events Hires Safety Experts To Prepare Best Practice Procedures For Music Festivals Nationwide

Thursday, July 15th, 2010 at 10:00AM

Introduces 18 and Older Policy Nationwide

LOS ANGELES, July 15, 2010 – Insomniac Events has hired Investigative Advisory Group (IAG), a consulting firm that has experience creating overall safety and security protocols for large venues, to analyze Insomniac’s current and proposed safety protocols and procedures for the company’s music festivals throughout the United States. These safety protocols will create new standard operating procedures adapted to the new challenges involved in music festivals, including Electric Daisy Carnival. These recommendations will further augment guest safety by building on Insomniac’s existing protocols, which include extensive advance planning with local governments and public safety authorities, including fire and police departments.

Effective immediately, Insomniac has also established an “18 and older” policy for all of the company’s dance music festivals until such time as Insomniac implements IAG’s recommended standard operating procedures. Insomniac has purchased handheld ID scanners, which will be used at all future “18 and older” Insomniac events. Insomniac will refund the full ticket price to anyone under the age of 18 who has already purchased tickets to upcoming Insomniac dance music festivals. Ticketholders under the age of 18 can send an email to refunds@insomniac.com detailing their name, phone number and the name of the event and outlet where they bought the ticket (e.g. Ticketmaster, GrooveTickets, or retail store).

“All the wonderful people who help make our events so special deserve not only the best entertainment, but the most comprehensive safety and security measures available. We are confident that Investigative Advisory Group will provide the right additions to our existing procedures, and help us to continue to raise the bar for music events,” says Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac’s CEO. “Over the past 17 years, Insomniac has created some of the largest and most successful dance music festivals in North America. We love our community and strive to be the best at what we do, and this includes event safety. Though dance music is enjoyed by people of all ages, we are introducing an 18 and older policy at our events as we await Investigative Advisory Group’s recommendations. Insomniac remains committed to providing a place for our guests to celebrate safely, and we plan to share our findings with all of our event venues.”
